VTFx Format
With version 8 of GLview Inova, the VTFx format is introduced. By utilizing XML and zip compression, the VTFx format expands the functionality and usefulness of the well established VTF format by adding features for security, adaptability and the ability to carry multiple cases in one file - without compromising on the file size.
The VTFx format is specifically tailored to carry structural mechanics and fluid dynamics data. Through usage by numerous customers worldwide, it has proven its flexibility and its abilities spanning:
- Data from different analysis tools (ABAQUS, ANSYS, NASTRAN, MSC.Marc, I-DEAS, CFDesign, Fluent, Forge and many more).
- Different analysis types (Static, Quasi Static, Transient, Modal and many more).
- Different element types, and
- Different result types
VTFx is an open format, offering the following characteristics:
- Support for multiple databases and cases in one file
- Security through password protection and data encryption
- Secrecy through relative result values
- Very compact files - excellent for archiving of analysis data
- Highly flexible
- Supports both ASCII and binary representation
- Suitable for representation and transfer of both structural mechanics and fluid dynamics models and results
- Suitable for queries for both structural mechanics and fluid dynamics models and results
